CLASS III

This technique sequence showcases a Class III composite restoration. First you will see the preparation of the tooth, including etching and bonding. Then the technique walks you through the placement of the substructure of the tooth with either a microhybrid or nanofill dental composite. The composite is polymerized, and then the Renamel Microfill (Cosmedent) is added to simulate the enamel surface of tooth structure. The final layer of microfill is polymerized for 60 seconds and then the finishing and polishing process begins. Notice this technique uses a 4 grit aluminum oxide disc system. It is important that you move through the grits in the following order: coarse, medium, fine and then superfine (Mini FlexiDiscs, Cosmedent). For the final polish use an aluminum oxide polishing paste (Enamelize) with a felt buff.
