Incisal Troughing
Use a micro bur from Brasseler
Place strips of choice interproximaly to protect while etching
Use the 8A placement instrument to place Renamel Nano universal composite into troughed area
Use Cosmedent Multi-Use instrument to create a slight depression in the Nano composite to allow room for overlay of Microfill composite.
Notice the slight depression
Application of Renamel Microfill
Application of Renamel Microfill
Microfill after 60 second cure
Checking occlusion with articulating paper
Make adjustments with coarse disc not a bur
Use FlexiStrip Course/Medium then Fine/Superfine to polish the interproximal.
Check occlusion once more
Final restoration after use of Enamelize polishing paste applied with FlexiBuff.
INCISAL EDGE TROUGHING
Tooth preparation is shown using Brassler micro-prep burs. Then application of a microhybrid or nanofill composite material is illustrated. The composite material is condensed into the incisal troughed area to simulate dentin and to create strength and opacity. The composite is left slightly under-contoured to allow for the overlay of Renamel Microfill, the enamel layer. The addition of a microfill composite will give your restoration better wear, better polishability, and long term color stability. At this stage make sure to check for proper occlusion. Lastly the restoration is finished and polished using aluminum oxide discs and a rubber wheel. No burs should be utilized at this point.
